Campus Life Assignment

Okay, here are some pictures from the junior class play auditions "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Oscar Wilde. Enjoy.

  1. I like the expression on the actress' face in the second photo. I feel like the first picture of Dax would be more interesting at a different angle or with lighting that spices it up a bit.

  2. I think the subject matter is pretty original and interesting. The pictures are nice and clear despite the dark(er) setting. I think it would have been nice to get a broader perspective of the rehearsal, but these do a good job anyways.

  3. Using flash was a good idea to stop motion and get good expression on your subjects without blur. Think about moving around your subjects more, looking for different camera angles. it seems like the bottom two were shot with relatively the same perspective. You could add much more visual interest by shooting with a different angles. I think that would be very successful here especially because you can capture the emotion of the performers in an interesting way.

  4. You don't use straight on shots which allows for natural light and shadows to take hold and make the picture more interesting. The third one is my favorite because it creates a triangle of the three characters. But I agree with Ian in that the pics were pretty locked down because of space but you somewhat made up for that by showing different moods in each of the photos of the take on rehearsal. Rad=)

  5. + i love the variety of expressions in these! i see seriousness and silliness, which shows that play rehearsal can be fun too!

    - the bottom two have the same background, it would be nice to see a little more variety. example: what does the scenery look like from the stage looking out?

    great work!

  6. It is nice to have a behind the scenes look into play practice, especially since most people don't see any more than the final product after months of preparation. I would be interested to see what your overall and middle shots looked like.

  7. I like the perspective and angle that you used for these images. I like you you took pictures of the actors and members of the audience. This makes it seem like a real play.
